The Prophet's Teachings on Wearing Silk

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught that those who have no share in the wealth of this world should not wear silk.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar, : That the Messenger of Allah SAW said: "Silk is only worn by one who has no share".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be humble and modest even if one has access to luxuries or material possessions; Prioritize needs over wants; Use resources for benefit of others instead of oneself alone

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Umar states that the Prophet Muhammad taught that those who do not have a share of wealth should not wear silk. This is because wearing silk is a sign of luxury and extravagance, which are qualities associated with having wealth. Therefore, it is important to remember to be humble and modest even if one has access to luxuries or material possessions. It also teaches us to be mindful of our spending habits and prioritize our needs over our wants. Furthermore, it encourages us to think about how we can use our resources for the benefit of others instead of using them for ourselves alone.
