QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic teachings such as modesty and humility; avoid pagan practices; be honest in agreements; maintain focus during prayer; refrain from vanity or prideful behavior .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibitions that were given to Ali by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He was forbidden from wearing gold rings, reciting Qur'an while bowing in prayer, engaging in a practice called al-qassi and wearing garments dyed with safflower. Gold rings are seen as a sign of vanity and pride which goes against Islamic teachings. Reciting Qur'an while bowing is also discouraged as it can be distracting for those who are praying and take away from their focus on Allah SWT. Al-qassi is an old practice that involves two people making an agreement to pay each other back at a later date without any witnesses present which can lead to disputes between them if one person does not fulfill their end of the agreement. Lastly, garments dyed with safflower were prohibited because they were associated with pagan practices at the time of the Prophet ﷺ .
