The Disapproval of Wearing Gold Rings

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saw a man wearing a gold ring and disapproved of it.

It was narrated from Abu Idris Al-Khawlani that: The Messenger of Allah SAW saw a man wearing a gold ring. A similar report.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، قِرَاءَةً قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَائِذٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلاَنِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَأَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ نَحْوَهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the disapproval of wearing gold rings by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated from Abu Idris Al-Khawlani that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man wearing a gold ring and disapproved of it. This hadith teaches us that we should not wear any type of jewelry made out of gold, as this is considered to be an act which goes against Islamic teachings. We should instead focus on adorning ourselves with clothing and other items which are permissible in Islam, such as silver ornaments or clothing made from natural fabrics like cotton or wool.
