Compensation for Wounds

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave instructions on the amount of compensation to be paid for any wound that exposes the bone.

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib that his father told him that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: "When the Messenger of Allah conquered Makkah , he said in his Khutbah: 'For any wound that exposes the bone, the Diyah is five (camels) each'."
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ لَمَّا افْتَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَكَّةَ قَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ ‏ "‏ وَفِي الْمَوَاضِحِ خَمْسٌ خَمْسٌ

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's instructions on how much compensation should be paid in cases of wounds that expose the bone. We must also ensure that justice is served and those who are wronged receive their due rights.
