Sunan an-Nasai 4764 (Book 45, Hadith 59) #19297
Resolving Disputes with Wisdom

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a dispute between two men from Banu Tamim, where one of them bit the other's hand and a tooth fell out. The Prophet (PBUH) judged the dispute to be invalid and used an analogy of a young camel biting to explain why it was wrong.

It was narrated from Ya'la bin Munyah that: a man from Banu Tamim fought with another man, and he bit his hand, so he pulled it away and a front tooth fell out. They referred the dispute to the Messenger of Allah, who said: "Would one of you bite his brother as a young camel bites?" and he thwarted it, meaning he judged it to be invalid.

QUICK LESSONS:
Try resolving disputes peacefully and with wisdom instead of resorting to violence or aggression .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about resolving disputes in an appropriate manner. It tells us that when two people are in disagreement, they should not resort to violence or aggression as this will only make matters worse. Instead, they should try to resolve their differences peacefully and with wisdom. In this case, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used an analogy of a young camel biting its brother to explain why it was wrong for one man to bite another man's hand during their dispute. He then judged that the dispute was invalid and should be thwarted or stopped immediately so that no further harm would come from it. This teaches us that we must always strive for peace and justice when dealing with disagreements between people, rather than resorting to violence or aggression which can only lead to more harm being done in the long run.
