EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a man who was brought to the Prophet after he had killed another person. The Prophet handed him over to the family of the victim, and told those sitting with him that both killer and slain would be in Fire. A man then went after him and told him what the Prophet said, which caused him to let go of his captive. It is narrated that Sa'eed bin Ashwa' said that it was then that the Prophet commanded for forgiveness from this man's crime. This hadith teaches us about mercy, compassion, and forgiveness even in times of tragedy or when faced with difficult situations. It shows us how important it is for us to forgive others even if they have wronged us or hurt someone we love; as Allah Himself forgives those who repent sincerely and ask for His mercy.
