Sahih al-Bukhari 1945 (Book 30, Hadith 52) #1865
Fasting in Extreme Heat

SUMMARY: The Prophet and Ibn Rawaha were the only ones fasting on a very hot day while travelling with Allah's Messenger.

Narrated Abu Ad-Darda: We set out with Allah's Messenger on one of his journeys on a very hot day, and it was so hot that one had to put his hand over his head because of the severity of heat. None of us was fasting except the Prophet and Ibn Rawaha.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive to fulfill religious obligations even under extreme conditions

EXPLANATIONS:
On one of his journeys, Allah's Messenger was accompanied by many of his companions. It was a very hot day and the heat was so intense that it made it difficult to bear. Despite this, two people were fasting - the Prophet and Ibn Rawaha. This hadith teaches us that even in extreme conditions, we should strive to fulfill our religious obligations such as fasting during Ramadan or any other time if necessary. We should not let any external factors stop us from doing what is right according to Islam. Even if something seems too hard or too difficult for us, we should remember that Allah will reward us for our efforts and make things easier for us if we are sincere in our intentions.
