Sunan an-Nasai 4072 (Book 37, Hadith 107) #18605
The Seriousness of Killing After Muhammad (SAW)

SUMMARY: Abu Bakr was angered by a man, and Abu Barzah offered to kill him if commanded. However, Abu Bakr's anger subsided when he realized the seriousness of what Abu Barzah said. He then reminded him that no one should be killed after Muhammad (SAW).

It was narrated that Abu Barzah said: "Abu Bakr got infuriated with a man, and I said: 'Who is he, O Khalifah of the Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Why?' I said: 'So that I might strike his neck (killing him) if you tell me to'. He said: 'Would you really do that?' I said: 'Yes. By Allah,' the seriousness of what I said took away his anger. Then he said: 'That is not for anyone after Muhammad SAW'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect others even during times of distress/anger; Think through your actions before taking them; Do good deeds throughout your life; Remember you will be accountable for all your actions on Judgement Day .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of respecting the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). When Abu Bakr became angry with a man, his companion, Abu Barzah offered to kill him if commanded. However, upon realizing how serious this offer was and that it would be wrong to take someone's life after the death of the Prophet Muhammed (SAW), his anger subsided. This hadith teaches us that we must respect and honor our beloved prophet even in times of anger or distress. We must never forget that no one should ever be killed after him as he is our leader and guide for all eternity.

It also teaches us not to act rashly in moments of rage or distress but rather think through our actions before taking them so as not to cause any harm or hurt anyone else in any way whatsoever. We must always remember that we are accountable for all our actions before Allah SWT on Judgement Day and thus strive to do good deeds only throughout our lives so as not to regret them later on in life when it is too late for repentance or forgiveness from Allah SWT .
