Doing Better than Promised

SUMMARY: It is better to do something better than what you have promised or sworn an oath for.

'Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever swears an oath, then sees something better than it, let him do that which is better".

QUICK LESSONS:
Think carefully before making any promises and strive for the best in all decisions
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that if we make a promise or swear an oath and then find something better than it later on, we should choose the better option. This hadith encourages us to think carefully before making any promises and to always strive for the best in all our decisions. We should also be open-minded and willing to change our minds if a situation changes or if we find something more suitable. This hadith teaches us that it is important to keep our word but also that it is okay to change our minds when necessary.
