Mourning Etiquette in Islam

SUMMARY: It is not permissible for a woman to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days, except her husband, and she should not use kohl, dye nor wear dyed clothes.

It was narrated from Umm 'Atiyyah that the Prophet said: "It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day, to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days, except for a husband; she should not use kohl, dye nor wear dyed clothes".
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تَحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلاَثٍ إِلاَّ عَلَى زَوْجٍ وَلاَ تَكْتَحِلُ وَلاَ تَخْتَضِبُ وَلاَ تَلْبَسُ ثَوْبًا مَصْبُوغًا

EXPLANATIONS:
In Islam, there are certain etiquette and guidelines that must be followed when mourning the death of someone. According to this hadith narrated by Umm 'Atiyyah, it is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn anyone who dies for more than three days except her husband. Furthermore, she should not use kohl or dye nor wear dyed clothes during this period of mourning.
