Sunan an-Nasai 3333 (Book 26, Hadith 138) #17945
Intimacy with Female Prisoners

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that it is permissible for Muslims to be intimate with female prisoners who have husbands among the idolaters, once they have completed their 'Iddah.

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that the Prophet of Allah sent an army to Awtas. They met the enemy, fought them, and prevailed over them. They acquired female prisoners who had husbands among the idolaters. The Muslims felt reluctant to be intimate with them. Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime revealed: "Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those (slaves) whom your right hands possess," meaning, this is permissible for you once they have completed their 'Iddah.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic laws and regulations when dealing with matters related to intimacy

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains a ruling from Allah regarding intimacy with female prisoners who have husbands among the idolaters. The Prophet of Allah sent an army to Awtas and they acquired female prisoners as part of their victory. The Muslims felt reluctant to be intimate with them, so Allah revealed that it was permissible for them once they had completed their 'Iddah. 'Iddah is a period of waiting after divorce or death of a husband before remarrying or being intimate again. Therefore, this hadith teaches us that we should follow the rulings of Allah and not feel reluctant in doing so even if it goes against our initial feelings or beliefs. It also teaches us about the importance of following Islamic laws and regulations when dealing with such matters in order to maintain justice and fairness in society.
