Punishment for Marrying Father's Wife

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) sent a man to kill someone who had married his father's wife and seize his wealth.

It was narrated from Yazid bin Al-Bara' that his father said: "I met my maternal uncle who was carrying a flag (for an expedition) and I said: 'Where are you going?' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah is sending me to a man who has married his father's wife, and he has commanded me to strike his neck (kill him) and seize his wealth'."

It also teaches us that we should always obey Allah and His Messenger ﷺ even if we don’t understand why something has been commanded or prohibited. We should have faith in Allah’s wisdom and justice even if we don’t understand it at first glance.
