Combining Stinginess and Faith

SUMMARY: A Muslim should never be stingy and must always strive to do good deeds for the sake of Allah.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The dust in the cause of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never be combined in the nostrils of a Muslim, and stinginess and faith will never be combined in a Muslim man's heart'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with your wealth by doing good deeds for the sake of Allah . Have faith in Him .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how a Muslim should conduct themselves in life. It teaches us that we should never be stingy, or selfish with our wealth, but instead use it to do good deeds for the sake of Allah. We must also have faith in Allah and trust that He will reward us for our good deeds. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that if we are generous with our wealth, then we will not experience the smoke of Hellfire in our nostrils. This means that if we are generous with what we have been given, then Allah will protect us from experiencing any kind of suffering or pain in this world or the next. Furthermore, it is impossible for a person to have both faith and stinginess at the same time; one cannot truly believe in God while being selfish with their resources at the same time. Therefore, this hadith encourages Muslims to be generous and faithful believers who strive to do good works for their Lord's pleasure alone.
