Praying Behind the Maqam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad entered the Kabah and recited the Tasbih and Takbir in its corners, but did not pray. He then prayed two Rakahs behind the Maqam.

It was narrated that Usmah bin Zaid said: "The Messenger of Allah entered the Kabah and recited the Tasbih and the Takbir in its corners, but he did not pray. Then he came out and prayed two Rakahs behind the Maqam, then he said: 'This is Qiblah'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect holy sites , Be mindful during prayer , Find an appropriate place for prayer .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about a time when Prophet Muhammad entered the Kabah, which is a holy site in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He recited some special words called "Tasbih" and "Takbir" in each corner of it but he did not pray there. Instead, he went outside to a place called "Maqam" and prayed two Rakahs there. This teaches us that we should always be mindful of where we are praying and that it is important to find an appropriate place for prayer.
