EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Umamah, speaks about the importance of fasting and how it is the best action one can do. When asked what he should do, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised him to take to fasting as there is nothing equal to it in terms of reward. Fasting has many benefits for both physical and spiritual health. It helps us become more mindful and aware of our actions as well as teaches us self-discipline and patience. Additionally, fasting helps us become closer to Allah SWT by increasing our faith in Him and strengthening our relationship with Him through prayer and supplication. Furthermore, fasting also helps us develop a sense of empathy towards those who are less fortunate than ourselves by making us appreciate what we have been blessed with more deeply.
