The Blessings & Mercy in Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that during the month of Ramadan, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, devils are chained up and a caller calls out every night to doers of good to proceed and doers of evil to desist.

It was narrated that 'Arfajah said; 'We visited 'Utbah bin Farqad (when he was ill) and we talked about the month of Ramadan. He said; 'What are you talking about?' We said: 'The month of Ramadan. He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: In it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of the Fire are closed, and the devils are chained up, and a caller calls out every night: O doer of good, proceed; O doer of evil, desist!"'

QUICK LESSONS:
Doing Good Deeds .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the blessings and mercy that Allah has bestowed upon us during the month of Ramadan. During this blessed month, Allah opens up the gates to Paradise for those who do good deeds while closing off access to Hell for those who commit sins. Additionally, devils are chained up so they cannot tempt people into doing wrong. Every night a caller calls out for people who have done good deeds to continue on their path while warning those who have done bad deeds not to persist in their wrongdoings. This hadith serves as a reminder that we should take advantage of this blessed month by doing as many good deeds as possible so we can reap its rewards in both this life and hereafter.
