QUICK LESSONS:
Speak positively about others even if you don't agree with them or their actions .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Anas ibn Malik, teaches us about the rewards of praise and criticism in the afterlife. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that when a funeral passed by with people praising the deceased, he said “It is granted”. When another funeral passed by with people criticizing the deceased, he also said “It is granted”. 'Umar was surprised at this response and asked why he would grant something to someone who was being criticized. The Prophet replied that whoever was praised would be given Paradise while those who were criticized would be given Hellfire as punishment for their sins on Earth. He then reminded 'Umar that they were all witnesses of Allah on Earth and should act accordingly. This hadith teaches us to always speak positively about others even if we don't agree with them or their actions because our words have consequences in both this life and the next life after death. We should strive to always speak kindly of others so we can receive rewards from Allah in return for our good deeds here on Earth.
