Giving Charity on Eid

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to go out on the day of Eid and pray two rak'ahs, then he would deliver a sermon and encourage people to give charity, especially women. He would also mention any exigencies or needs for an army if necessary.

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed that: The Messenger of Allah used to go out on the day of 'Eid and pray two rak'ahs, then he would deliver the Khutbah and enjoin giving charity, and the ones who gave most charity were the women. If he had any exigency or he needed to send an army he would speak of that, if not, he would go back.

On the day of 'Eid, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to go out and pray two rak'ahs. After that, he would deliver a sermon encouraging people to give charity. He particularly encouraged women to give charity as they were known for giving more than men. If there was any exigency or need for an army, he would speak about it in his sermon; otherwise, he would return home afterwards. This hadith teaches us the importance of giving charity and helping those in need during special occasions such as 'Eid. It also shows us how important it is for us to be generous with our wealth and help others whenever we can so that we can make this world a better place for everyone around us.
