Following Leaders in Prayer

SUMMARY: Anas advises to follow the prayer of the leaders.

Narrated 'Abdul 'Aziz: I went out to Mina on the day of Tarwiya and met Anas going on a donkey. I asked him, "Where did the Prophet offer the Zuhr prayer on this day?" Anas replied, "See where your chiefs pray and pray similarly".
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، سَمِعَ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، لَقِيتُ أَنَسًا‏.‏ وَحَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى مِنًى يَوْمَ التَّرْوِيَةِ فَلَقِيتُ أَنَسًا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ ذَاهِبًا عَلَى حِمَارٍ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ هَذَا الْيَوْمَ الظُّهْرَ فَقَالَ انْظُرْ حَيْثُ يُصَلِّي أُمَرَاؤُكَ فَصَلِّ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about following the prayer of leaders. It was narrated by 'Abdul 'Aziz who went out to Mina on the day of Tarwiya and met Anas going on a donkey. He asked him where did Prophet Muhammad offer Zuhr prayer on that day and Anas replied that one should see where their chiefs pray and pray similarly. This hadith teaches us to follow our leaders in matters related to religion as they are more knowledgeable than us and have more experience in religious matters. We should also be aware of our surroundings when it comes to religious practices so we can learn from those around us who are more experienced than us. It also teaches us that we should not be afraid or hesitant to ask questions if we do not know something as this is how we can learn from others and grow spiritually.
