Limiting Something Vast

SUMMARY: The Bedouin prayed two rak'ahs and asked Allah to have mercy on him and the Prophet Muhammad, but the Prophet Muhammad told him that he had limited something vast.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: A Bedouin entered the masjid and prayed two rak'ahs, then he said: "O Allah, have mercy on me and on Muhammad and do not have mercy on anyone else". The Messenger of Allah said: "You have limited something vast".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a Bedouin who entered a masjid and prayed two rak'ahs. After his prayer, he asked Allah to have mercy on him and the Prophet Muhammad, but not anyone else. The Prophet Muhammad then told him that he had limited something vast. This teaches us that when we pray to Allah for something, we should not limit our prayers or ask for too little because Allah's mercy is vast and limitless. We should always ask for more than what we need because it is possible that Allah will grant us more than what we asked for. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us to be humble in our prayers as well as grateful for all of the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us.
