This hadith emphasizes the importance of keeping one's hair untied while praying. It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas that he saw 'Abdullah bin Al-Harith praying with his hair bound behind him. He stopped and started to undo it. When he finished he turned to Ibn 'Abbas and said, "What were you doing to my head?" Ibn Abbas replied that he heard the Messenger of Allah say, "The likeness of this is that of one who prays with his hands tie behind his neck." This hadith teaches us that we should not tie our hair when we are in prayer as it can be a distraction from focusing on our prayers and connecting with Allah SWT.
