Sunan an-Nasai 934 (Book 11, Hadith 59) #15542
Revelation of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) describing how revelation comes to him, and Aishah witnessing it.

It was narrated from Aishah that: Al-Harith bin Hisham asked the Messenger of Allah : 'How does the Revelation come to you?' He said: 'Like the ringing of a bell, and this is the hardest on me. When it departs I remember what he said. And sometimes the Angel appears to me in the form of a man and speaks to me, and I remember what he said". Aishah said: "I saw him when the Revelation came to him on a very cold day, and his forehead was dripping with sweat".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the experience of revelation that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) went through. He described it as a ringing bell that was difficult for him to bear and he would remember what was said afterwards. He also mentioned that sometimes an angel would appear in human form and speak to him directly. Aisha witnessed this on a cold day when his forehead was dripping with sweat due to the intensity of the experience. This hadith shows us how important revelation is for Muslims as it is one of our main sources for guidance from Allah SWT and how much effort our beloved prophet put into receiving these messages from Him.
