The Power of Prayer and Wudu

SUMMARY: Doing wudu properly and praying with the congregation or in the Masjid will lead to Allah's forgiveness of sins.

It was narrated that 'Uthman bin 'Affan said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever does wudu' properly, then walks to (attend) the prescribed prayer, and prays with the people or with the congregation or in the Masjid, Allah will forgive him his sins".
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ الْحُكَيْمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقُرَشِيَّ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَاهُ أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَهُمَا عَنْ حُمْرَانَ، مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ لِلصَّلاَةِ فَأَسْبَغَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ مَشَى إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ فَصَلاَّهَا مَعَ النَّاسِ أَوْ مَعَ الْجَمَاعَةِ أَوْ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ذُنُوبَهُ

This hadith speaks about the power of prayer and wudu. It was narrated by Uthman bin Affan that he heard the Messenger of Allah say that whoever does wudu properly, then walks to attend prescribed prayer, and prays with people or in a congregation or in a Masjid, Allah will forgive him his sins. This hadith teaches us that if we perform our religious duties such as prayer and wudu correctly, then we can be sure that Allah will forgive us for our sins. It also encourages us to pray together with others in a congregation or at a Masjid as it is more rewarding than praying alone. Furthermore, it reminds us of how powerful prayer is; it can even lead to forgiveness from God!
