Sunan an-Nasai 366 (Book 3, Hadith 18) #14972
Praying During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a woman who asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) if she should stop praying due to her not becoming pure, to which he replied that it was not menstruation and instructed her on how to proceed.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish said to the Messenger of Allah : "O Messenger of Allah , I do not become pure. Should I stop praying?" The Messenger of Allah said: "That is a vein and is not menstruation. When your period comes, stop praying, and when the same amount of time as your regular period has passed, then wash the blood from yourself and pray".
