Praying During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised Zainab bint Jahsh to not pray during her period, and then perform Ghusl and delay Zuhr prayer, bring Maghrib and 'Isha' forward, and pray them together.

It was narrated that Zainab bint Jahsh said: "I said to the Prophet that I was suffering from Istihadah. He said: 'Do not pray during the days of your period, then perform Ghusl and delay Zuhr and bring Maghrib and bring 'Isha' forward and pray them together, and perform Ghusl for Fajr".

Respect your religious obligations even when you are in a state of impurity or illness .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the proper way of praying during menstruation. It was narrated by Zainab bint Jahsh that she asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about her suffering from Istihadah. He advised her to not pray during the days of her period, then perform Ghusl and delay Zuhr prayer, bring Maghrib and 'Isha' forward, and pray them together. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible for women to combine their prayers when they are in a state of menstruation or post-natal bleeding. It also teaches us that we should be mindful of our religious obligations even when we are in a state of impurity or illness.
