Sunan an-Nasai 360 (Book 3, Hadith 12) #14966
Delaying Prayers During Istihadah

SUMMARY: A woman suffering from Istihadah was advised to delay Zuhr and bring 'Asr forward, and to perform one Ghusl for both, and to delay Maghrib and bring 'Isha' forward, and to perform one Ghusl for both, and she would perform one Ghusl for Subh.

It was narrated from 'Aishah that a woman who suffered from Istihadah at the time of the Messenger of Allah was told that it was a stubborn vein (ie, one that would not stop bleeding). She was told to delay Zuhr and bring 'Asr forward, and to perform one Ghusl for both, and to delay Maghrib and bring 'Isha' forward, and to perform one Ghusl for both, and she would perform one Ghusl for Subh.

Follow teachings of Prophet Muhammad; Fulfill religious obligations; Be considerate towards those facing difficulties in life .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a woman who suffered from a condition called Istihadah. In this situation, the Prophet Muhammad advised her to delay her Zuhr prayer until after Asr prayer time, while performing only one ghusl or ritual bath for both prayers. Similarly he advised her to delay Maghrib until after Isha' prayer time while performing only one ghusl or ritual bath for both prayers. He also told her that she should perform only one ghusl or ritual bath in the morning before Subh prayer time. This hadith teaches us that we should be considerate of those who are facing difficulties in their lives due to health issues or other reasons so that they can still fulfill their religious obligations without any extra burden on them. It also teaches us the importance of following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad as he was sent by Allah as a mercy upon mankind with guidance on how we should live our lives according to His will.
