Sunan an-Nasai 329 (Book 2, Hadith 5) #14936
Mercy and Forgiveness in the Masjid

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed mercy to a Bedouin who urinated in the Masjid by not restraining him and instead pouring water over it.

It was narrated from Anas that a Bedouin urinated in the Masjid, and some of the people went after him, but the Messenger of Allah said: "Do not restrain him". When he had finished he called from a bucket (of water) and poured over it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show mercy and forgiveness even when someone has done something wrong. Treat places of worship with respect.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's mercy and forgiveness towards a Bedouin who urinated in the masjid. Instead of punishing him, he called for a bucket of water to be poured over it. This teaches us that we should show mercy and forgiveness even when someone has done something wrong, as this is what Allah expects from us. We should also remember that masajids are places of worship, so we must always treat them with respect.
