This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's teachings on purifying oneself without water. In this hadith, Shaqiq was sitting with Abdullah and Abu Musa when Abu Musa mentioned that he heard from Ammar that he was sent on an errand by the Prophet but became Junub and could not find any water to purify himself. The Prophet then taught him a method of purifying himself without using water which involved rolling in the earth then wiping his hands together to remove any dust before wiping his face with them. Umar was not convinced by what Ammar said but it turned out to be true as it came from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
