Sunan an-Nasai 169 (Book 1, Hadith 170) #14776
Seeking Refuge in Allah's Pleasure

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) was found in a state of prostration, seeking refuge from Allah's anger and punishment, and praising Him.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that 'Aishah said: "I noticed the Prophet was not there one night, so I started looking for him with my hand. My hand touched his feet and they were held upright, and he was prostrating and saying: 'I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger, in Your forgiveness from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot praise You enough, You are as You have praised yourself'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's devotion to his Lord. He was found one night in a state of prostration - which is when one kneels down with their forehead touching the ground - and he was seeking refuge from God's anger and punishment. He also praised God for His greatness and mercy. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek refuge in God’s pleasure by doing good deeds that please Him. We should also remember to praise Him for all His blessings upon us. It reminds us that no matter how much we thank or praise Him it will never be enough because He is greater than anything we can imagine or comprehend.
