The Prophet's Prayer Position

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen relieving himself on two bricks while facing towards Jerusalem.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "I climbed on the roof of our house and saw the Messenger of Allah on two bricks, facing toward Bait Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), relieving himself".
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ لَقَدِ ارْتَقَيْتُ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَيْتِنَا فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلَى لَبِنَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ لِحَاجَتِهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prayer position of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Umar that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on two bricks while facing towards Jerusalem and relieving himself. This hadith shows us that even in a state of relieving oneself, one should maintain their prayer position and face towards the direction of Al-Quds. It also teaches us to be mindful and conscious even in our most private moments as we are still being watched by Allah SWT. Furthermore, it is a reminder for us to always be humble and respectful no matter what situation we are in or what task we are doing.
