Facing East or West While Defecating

SUMMARY: It is not permissible to face the Qiblah while defecating, rather one should face east or west.

It was narrated that Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'When any one of you goes to defecate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, rather let him face towards the east or the west'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Allah's commandment by facing east or west while defecating .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that when we go to the bathroom, it is important to be mindful of our direction. We should not face towards the Kaaba in Makkah, which is known as the Qiblah, but instead we should face either east or west. This shows us that even when doing something as mundane as going to the bathroom, we must still be conscious of our actions and remember Allah's commands. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us about modesty and humility; it reminds us that even in private moments such as using the restroom, we must still maintain a sense of dignity and respect for ourselves and for Allah's commands.
