Be mindful when dealing with orphans and their wealth; take only what is necessary for your needs; be generous and understanding towards people less fortunate than yourself.

This hadith explains the words of Allah in the Quran which states that those who are wealthy should abstain from taking too much of an orphan's wealth, while those who are poor may take what is reasonable for their own needs. The hadith further explains this by saying that this was revealed in relation to the guardian of an orphan who is poor; he may get out of that what is reasonable keeping in view his own status of solvency. This teaches us to be mindful and considerate when dealing with orphans and their wealth, as we must ensure they have enough to live on without being taken advantage off. We must also remember to be generous and understanding towards people less fortunate than ourselves, as Allah has commanded us to do so.
