QUICK LESSONS:
Practicing abstinence in order to become closer to Allah; Making do with limited resources if it is done out of faith; Spending time with family during Ramadan; Being patient when faced with difficult situations; Showing gratitude towards God's provision.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the great sacrifice that the family of Prophet Muhammad made in order to be closer to Allah. During one month out of the year, they would abstain from kindling a fire for cooking and instead rely solely on dates and water for sustenance. This is an example of how one can practice abstinence in order to become closer to Allah. It also shows us that even when we have limited resources at our disposal, we can still make do with what we have if it is done out of faith and love for Allah.
