Poverty of the Family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was so poor that they could not afford to eat wheat bread for two days in a row, and even on one of those days, they could only get a date.

'A'isha reported: Never could the family of Muhammad (afford to eat) the bread of wheat for two days successively. Even (out of these two days) one (was such wherein he could get) only a date.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be grateful for whatever you have; trust in Allah's will no matter what your circumstances may be; remain humble despite hardships; accept your situation with patience and faith.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the poverty faced by the family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is reported by 'A'isha that his family never had enough money to buy wheat bread for two consecutive days. Even on one day, they were only able to get a date as their meal. This shows how difficult it was for them to make ends meet and how much hardship they faced in their daily lives. Despite this poverty, however, the Prophet's family remained humble and content with what Allah had given them. They did not complain or become discouraged but instead accepted their situation with patience and faith in Allah's plan. This teaches us an important lesson about being grateful for whatever we have and trusting in Allah's will no matter what our circumstances may be.
