Hunger in the Family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not have enough to eat and were often hungry.

'A'isha reported: Never did the family of Muhammad eat to the fill the bread of barley for two successive days until Allah's Messenger died.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ خُبْزِ شَعِيرٍ يَوْمَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ حَتَّى قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the poverty and hunger that the family of Prophet Muhammad faced. It is reported that they never ate to their fill with barley bread for two consecutive days until the death of Prophet Muhammad. This shows how much sacrifice they made for their faith, as well as how much hardship they endured in order to spread Islam. Despite this, they still managed to remain strong in their faith and continue spreading its message. This hadith serves as an example for us all, showing us that we should be willing to make sacrifices for our beliefs and endure hardships if necessary.
