Rewarding Generosity in Marriage

SUMMARY: A woman who gives charity from her husband's house will be rewarded, and her husband will also be rewarded for his earnings.

Narrate Aisha: The Prophet said, "If a woman gives in charity from her husband's house ".. The Prophet (pbuh) also said, "If a lady gives meals (in charity) from her husband's house without spoiling her husband's property, she will get a reward and her husband will also get a reward likewise. The husband will get a reward because of his earnings and the woman because of her spending".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with your wealth; Recognize each other’s contributions; Don't forget about those less fortunate than you; Spend out of what you have been given by your partner .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the rewards that come with generosity in marriage. It is narrated by Aisha, the wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, that he said if a woman gives charity from her husband's house without spoiling his property, she will get a reward and so will her husband. The reward for the woman comes from spending out of what she has been given by her husband while the reward for the man comes from his earnings. This hadith teaches us to be generous with our wealth and to not forget about those less fortunate than us even when we are married. It also shows us how important it is to recognize each other’s contributions in marriage and how both partners can benefit from their actions.
