The Consequences of Speaking Ill of Others

SUMMARY: Speaking ill of people will lead to one's own ruin.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: When a person says that people are ruined he is himself ruined. Abu Ishaq said: I do not know whether he said" ahlakahum or ahlakuhum.

QUICK LESSONS:
Speak kindly towards others

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is a warning from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about speaking ill of others. It teaches us that when we speak badly about someone, it can have negative consequences for ourselves. We should be careful with our words and think before we speak, as our words can have a lasting impact on both ourselves and those around us. We should strive to use kind words when talking about others, as this will bring blessings upon us in this life and the hereafter.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught us that if we are ever faced with criticism or hurtful comments from someone else, we should respond in a gentle manner instead of lashing out in anger or revenge. By responding calmly and kindly, we can show that person the error of their ways without causing any further harm or damage to either party involved.

In conclusion, this hadith serves as an important reminder for all Muslims to be mindful of their speech at all times and strive to use kind words when talking about others so they may reap the rewards in both this life and the hereafter.
