Kindness to Loved Ones

SUMMARY: Treating the loved ones of one's father kindly is the best act of goodness.

'Abdullah b. Umar reported Allah's Apostle as saying: The finest act of goodness is that a person should treat kindly the loved ones of his father.
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ، الْهَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ أَبَرُّ الْبِرِّ أَنْ يَصِلَ الرَّجُلُ وُدَّ أَبِيهِ

This hadith emphasizes the importance of treating kindly those who are close to one's father, such as family members and friends.
