Sahih Muslim 2541a (Book 44, Hadith 317) #13567
The Worth of Companionship

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of respecting the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how their worth is greater than any amount of wealth.

Abu Sa'id reported there was some altercation between Khalid b. Walid and Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf and Khalid reviled him. Thereupon Allah's messenger said: None should revile my Companions. for if one amongst you were to spend as much gold as Uhud, it would not amount to as much as one mudd of one of them or half of it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect your companions

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of respecting those who are close to us, especially those who are companions with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It emphasizes that no matter how much wealth one may have, it cannot compare to the value and worth of a companion. The hadith also teaches us that we should not be jealous or envious when someone has something we do not have, because what they have may be more valuable than anything money can buy. We should instead focus on our own blessings and be thankful for them.
