This hadith is about the appreciation that the Prophet Muhammad showed to Ibn 'Abbas when he provided him with water for ablution. The Prophet praised Ibn 'Abbas and said "May Allah grant him deep understanding of religion". This hadith teaches us that it is important to have a deep understanding of religion, as well as to be generous and kind towards others. It also shows us how much appreciation the Prophet had for those who were knowledgeable in religious matters.
