The Dangers of Poetry

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns against the dangers of filling one’s mind with poetry. The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said that it would be better for someone’s stomach to be filled with pus than their mind filled with poetry. This suggests that the Prophet was cautioning against the potential harm that can come from indulging in too much poetry and not focusing on more important matters. He was likely warning people about how they should use their time and energy wisely and not waste it on things which may not benefit them in any way. Additionally, this hadith also serves as a reminder for people to prioritize their health over other activities such as reading or writing poems.
