Rewards for Killing a Gecko

SUMMARY: Killing a gecko with the first stroke will be rewarded with seventy rewards.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying (that he who kills a gecko) with the first stroke there are seventy rewards for him.
وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَكَرِيَّاءَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَتْنِي أُخْتِي، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ فِي أَوَّلِ ضَرْبَةٍ سَبْعِينَ حَسَنَةً

This teaches us that even small acts of kindness and mercy towards animals can be greatly rewarded by Allah and should not be taken lightly. We should strive to do good deeds in our daily lives as it may bring us closer to Allah and His blessings.
