The Absence of Transitive Diseases

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the absence of transitive diseases, safar and hama.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: There is no transitive disease. Thereupon a desert Arab stood up. The rest of the hadith is the same and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Zuhri' the Prophet is reported to have said: There is no transitive disease, no safar, no hama.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Huraira and Zuhri'. It states that there is no transitive disease, safar or hama. Transitive diseases are those which can be passed from one person to another through contact or other means. Safar refers to travelling while hama refers to a type of fever which affects people in hot climates. This hadith teaches us that we should not worry about these things as they do not exist. We should instead focus on our faith and trust in Allah's plan for us.
