Cooling the Heat of Hell

SUMMARY: The hadith is about cooling the heat of Hell with water.

Ibn Umar reported Allah's Messenger as saying: The fever from the vehement raging of the (heat of Hell), so cool it with the help of water.
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ - عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَابْرُدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about cooling the heat of hell with water. It was narrated by Ibn Umar, who reported that Allah's Messenger said that the fever from the vehement raging of the heat of hell can be cooled with water. This hadith teaches us to be mindful and aware that we should not do anything which will lead us to hell, as it will be a place full of intense heat and suffering. We should strive to do good deeds in this life so that we can avoid going there in our afterlife. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us to have faith in Allah and His mercy, as He has provided a way for us to cool down even if we end up in hell due to our sins.
