EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against drinking from vessels made of gold or silver. It is narrated by Abd al-Rahman on the authority of his mother's sister Umm Salama who said that Allah's Messenger said that whoever drinks from such vessels will have to face the consequences in the afterlife. He will be punished with fire in hell for this sin. This hadith teaches us to stay away from such luxurious items as they can lead us astray and make us forget our purpose in life which is to please Allah and gain His pleasure. We should focus on doing good deeds instead of indulging ourselves with worldly pleasures which are temporary and do not bring any benefit in the hereafter.
