Moderation in Eating

SUMMARY: A believer eats with moderation, while a non-believer eats excessively.

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger as saying: A believer eats in one intestine, whereas a non-believer eats in seven intestines.

QUICK LESSONS:
Eat moderately

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of moderation in eating. It teaches us that believers should eat with restraint and not overindulge, while non-believers tend to eat excessively. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that a believer eats in one intestine, whereas a non-believer eats in seven intestines. This means that believers should be mindful of how much they are eating and not overeat, as it can lead to health problems and other issues. On the other hand, non-believers tend to have an unhealthy relationship with food and often overeat without considering the consequences. Therefore, this hadith encourages us to practice moderation when it comes to our diet so we can maintain good health and wellbeing.
