Forbidden Containers for Drinking

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger forbade drinking from certain containers.

Abu Sa'id reported that Allah's Messenger forbade drinking in green pitcher, in gourd and in the hollow stump.
وَحَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ - عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي الْحَنْتَمَةِ وَالدُّبَّاءِ وَالنَّقِيرِ

This hadith is about the prohibition of drinking from certain containers. According to this hadith, Allah's Messenger forbade drinking from a green pitcher, a gourd and a hollow stump.
