Rewarded for Faithful Actions

SUMMARY: A man from Banu Nabit testified his faith in Allah and His Messenger, then went forward and fought until he was killed. The Prophet said that he will be given a great reward for his actions.

It has been reported on the authority of Bara! ' who stated: A man from Banu Nabit (one of the Ansar tribes) came to the Prophet and said: I testify that there is no god except Allah and that thou art His bondman and Messenger. Then he went forward and fought until he was killed. The Prophet said: He has done a little but shall be given a great reward.

The man from Banu Nabit is an example of this; despite only fighting until he was killed, the Prophet said that he would receive a great reward for his actions. This teaches us to always strive to do good deeds with sincerity and faith in order to receive rewards from Allah.
