Sharing Rewards

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad sent a force to Banu Lihyan and instructed them to divide the reward between two people.

It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'id Khudri that the Messenger of Allah sent a force to Banu Lihyan (who are from Banu Hudhail, and said: One man from every two and the reward (will be divided) between the two.
وَحَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بَعَثَ بَعْثًا إِلَى بَنِي لِحْيَانَ - مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ - فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ لِيَنْبَعِثْ مِنْ كُلِّ رَجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا وَالأَجْرُ بَيْنَهُمَا
