Appreciating the Gift of Life

SUMMARY: Life is a gift from Allah and should be appreciated.

Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Apostle as saying: Life grant is the heritage of one upon whom it is conferred.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ - حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الْعُمْرَى مِيرَاثٌ لأَهْلِهَا

This hadith emphasizes the importance of appreciating life as it is a gift from Allah. It teaches us to be grateful for all that we have been blessed with and to make the most out of our lives. We should not take life for granted but instead use it to do good deeds and strive towards achieving our goals in this world while also remembering that we will eventually return to Allah one day. The hadith also reminds us that life is a heritage which has been bestowed upon us by God and so we must use it wisely in order to reap its rewards in the hereafter.
